Is this an EMIS or an energy management system?

It is an energy management information system in the portfolio sense: it works from bills, meter data and facility attributes to benchmark, verify and report. It does not control equipment; a building automation system does that. The two complement each other, and interval data from either can be analyzed here.

Does it work with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and RETScreen?

Yes. Consumption and cost data by meter and period are prepared in the shape those tools expect, so monthly updates and benchmarking submissions do not depend on manual entry. The data-quality checks run before the export, which is where most Portfolio Manager problems start.

How is emissions data calculated?

Scope 1 and 2 emissions are calculated from validated consumption using published emission factors for the relevant province, state or grid region, with the factor source and year recorded. Intensity metrics and progress against targets are derived from the same records.

Can it support a municipality or school board with many buildings?

Yes. The model supports boards or divisions, facilities, accounts and meters at any scale, with role-based access and bilingual support, so a public-sector portfolio with dozens or hundreds of buildings can run reporting from one place.

What data do we need to start?
